A transplanted Maritimer, Michelle is inspired by the energetic and entrepreneurial spirit that exists in Calgary. She’s a story-teller at heart and loves sharing the InceptionU story with the community.

Michelle leads InceptionU’s public relations strategy and works closely with the InceptionU leadership team, learners and local media to share positive stories about career transitions and Calgary’s growing tech ecosystem. 

Michelle graduated from Carleton University and is a former journalist with Global News and an on-air host with The Weather Network. She is the recipient of a Canadian Mental Health Association Communications Award for her work on the Global News Healthbeat.

In her spare time she enjoys dog walks with her golden retriever Ivey, playing golf and spending time with family and friends, both “down home” on the East Coast and here in Calgary.

What essential skill is helping you to be future fit?

“Flexible thinking - there isn’t one way to do things. Similar to software development, the world of public relations, social media and marketing is constantly changing so we need to use many different and creative ways to achieve great outcomes.”
