Anatomy of a Game Changer Leadership & Organizational Innovation

Everyone Wants a Game Changer. Almost No One Knows How to Spot One.

Game-changers work within existing rules to shift outcomes dramatically, or recognize when a failing paradigm needs to be replaced entirely. This 3-hour session maps the anatomy of that capability: the traits, the conditions, and the ethics.

Five Elements. The Complete Picture of What a Game Changer Is.

Five areas of focus, built to give you a precise and practical understanding of game-changing capability — what it is, who has it, and what gets in its way.

What Game-Changing Capability Looks Like

A clear, technical understanding of what true game-changing capability is in practice — what separates it from ordinary high performance, and why some people who seem disruptive are actually something more important. The elements of a game are everywhere; this module helps you see them clearly.

The Risks and the Benefits

Game changers are not comfortable assets. This module explores the tension at the core of the concept: the immense strategic benefits they bring and the very real disruption they cause. Understanding both is what allows you to deploy this capability with intention rather than just hope.

Traits and Competencies

The specific psychological traits and InceptionU MetaSkills that define game-changing individuals and organizations — not as a personality test, but as a practical map for recognition, development, and self-assessment.

Creating the Conditions

Game changers don't emerge by accident. This module covers the organizational and cultural conditions that allow game-changing people and ideas to take hold — and what leaders need to do (and stop doing) to create those conditions in their own environments.

The Ethics of Changing the Game

Shifting rules creates winners and losers. Replacing a paradigm disrupts the people who depended on it. This module doesn't skip those trade-offs — it explores the moral and ethical implications of game-changing, and what responsible disruption actually looks like.

Common Questions

Before your team signs up, let's answer the obvious ones.

How much of the session is Greg presenting versus participants engaging?

This is a working session with heavy participant engagement — you're not just listening to Greg. The content is substantive and the frameworks are rich, but you'll be applying and interrogating them throughout, not receiving them passively.

Is this for people who manage game changers, or people who want to become one?

Both. Leaders get a framework for identifying, nurturing, and creating conditions for game-changing people in their organizations. Individuals get a clear lens for understanding their own game-changing potential and what's required to act on it.

What does 'the ethics of changing the game' actually cover?

Changing rules isn't automatically beneficial — it creates winners and losers, disrupts existing systems, and can cause real harm when done carelessly or without accountability. This module doesn't shy away from those trade-offs. Responsible disruption is part of the anatomy.

Is this program available online, in-person, or both?

See the Session Logistics above for details on the current cohort. If you're outside Calgary and interested in a virtual option, get in touch and we'll let you know what's available.

Can I register as a team, or book a private session for my organization?

Yes. Group rates apply for five or more seats. If you're looking to run this as a private session for your team, reach out and we'll put together a proposal tailored to your organization's needs and schedule.

What do you mean when you mention MetaSkills? What are they, and how will they help me?

Tools don't solve problems. People do. Our ability to use MetaSkills — critical thinking, systems thinking, creative thinking, computational thinking, design, and collaboration — are timeless competencies central to your future success. These aren't just career skills; they have impact across every area of your life.

Every InceptionU program is built around developing these alongside the technical content. That's what makes the learning stick.

What is your cancellation policy?

If you cancel 10 or more days before the program start date, you'll receive a full refund. Cancellations between 10 days and 24 hours before the start date can be transferred to a future cohort at no additional cost. For cancellations within 24 hours of the start date, we're not able to process a refund or transfer — but reach out anyway and we'll see what we can do.

Is InceptionU an accredited institution?

Fortunately, we are not. That gives us the freedom to be agile and adaptable as technology and industries evolve. We work closely with industry partners to design programming that aligns with real workforce needs — not what was relevant five years ago. If you'd like our full perspective on credentials and credentialing, read our take on the blog.
