There's Always Warning Signs. Learn to Read Them Before It's Too Late.
Clustertrucks — catastrophic failures caused by illusions, impatience, and incompetence — don't appear overnight. This 8-hour workshop teaches you to identify the early warning signs, understand the human dynamics behind them, and build concrete strategies to prevent them.
Competent People Don't Stay in a Clustertruck. Yours Won't Either.
The real danger of a Clustertruck isn't just the failure — it's what happens to your team. When illusions, impatience, and incompetence start to compound, the people you most need will disengage and leave. Not because they lack commitment, but because they're competent enough to see what's coming. What gets left behind is worse than the original problem.
This 8-hour workshop gives you the frameworks to see it first. You'll learn how Clustertrucks form, how to read the early warning signs in your own environment, and how to understand the human dynamics — the inescapable traits and organizational patterns — that either fuel disaster or get redirected toward something better.

Not For You If

This is a working workshop — not a passive seminar. You'll be applying frameworks to real situations from your own work throughout the day.

Five Modules. One Goal: Never Drive a Clustertruck.
Each module builds on the last — working from understanding the phenomenon, to detecting it early, to building the conditions that prevent it.
What Is a Clustertruck?
he formula: Illusions + Impatience + Incompetence. We break down what a Clustertruck actually is, how it's different from ordinary mistakes or setbacks, and why the most competent people in any organization will walk away when one starts to form — leaving only those who can't see it.
Early Warning Signs
Clustertrucks don't appear fully formed. They build. This module trains you to identify the subtle, early indicators — in team dynamics, decision-making patterns, and organizational behavior — before they compound into something catastrophic.
The Competency Connection
How individual and organizational competency are linked — and how inescapable elements of human nature can drive either failure or resilience. Understanding this connection is what separates leaders who repeat disasters from those who stop them.
Reality Testing
How to get an honest, unvarnished picture of your current situation — and why leaders who seek that picture, even when it's uncomfortable, consistently outperform those who don't. This module introduces practical tools for cutting through organizational illusion.
Prevention Strategies
The culminating module: building concrete strategies and tactics to unbuild potential disasters before they scale. You'll leave with a prevention framework built around the specific dynamics of your team and organization.
Eight Hours, Delivered Your Way.
Where did InceptionU help me? Where did they not. They helped me rewire my entire way of thinking. I may not know the answers now — but I know I can find them. That makes me feel ready for basically anything.
As the co-founder of and facilitator at InceptionU, Greg is a super-connected entrepreneur, visionary and essential part of the InceptionU team. His expertise in design and critical thinking is a core component of our programming. Greg guides learners to think beyond what they ‘think’ they know and question everything.
We Don't Just Teach You About Failure. We Give You a Better Way to See.
InceptionU's approach is built around MetaSkills — the thinking capacities that make learning transferable across every challenge you'll face, not just the ones you walked in with.
Unbuilding a Clustertruck isn't a lecture on organizational theory. It's a project-based, interactive workshop where you apply real frameworks to real situations from your own work. You leave with more than insight — you leave with a plan.
Before your team signs up, let's answer the obvious ones.
Can this be run as a single full day or spread across multiple sessions?
Both work. The program is 8 hours total and is designed to run as a full-day immersion or split across multiple shorter sessions over days or weeks — depending on what fits your team's schedule. Talk to us about what format makes sense for you.
Do participants need any background in systems thinking or organizational design?
No. The workshop is built for anyone in any organization who doesn't want to preside over — or work inside — a catastrophic failure. No prior background required. What helps most is coming with a real situation you want to apply the frameworks to.
Can you run this as a private session for our leadership team?
Yes — private team bookings are available. Drop your details in the form below and we'll be in touch about what that looks like.
Can I register as a team, or book a private session for my organization?
Yes. Group rates apply for five or more seats. If you're looking to run this as a private session for your team, reach out and we'll put together a proposal tailored to your organization's needs and schedule.
What's a Clustertruck, exactly?
It's a slightly more polite term for a catastrophic organizational failure that goes beyond ordinary mistakes. The formula: Illusions + Impatience + Incompetence. The real danger isn't just the failure itself — it's that the most competent people in any organization will disengage and leave when one starts to form, pushing things further into the sub-mean. The workshop is named for the process of taking one apart before it fully forms.

Is this program available online, in-person, or both?
See the Session Logistics above for details on the current cohort. If you're outside Calgary and interested in a virtual option, get in touch and we'll let you know what's available.
What do you mean when you mention MetaSkills? What are they, and how will they help me?
Tools don't solve problems. People do. Our ability to use MetaSkills — critical thinking, systems thinking, creative thinking, computational thinking, design, and collaboration — are timeless competencies central to your future success. These aren't just career skills; they have impact across every area of your life.
Every InceptionU program is built around developing these alongside the technical content. That's what makes the learning stick.
Is there funding or financial assistance available?
Employer sponsorship is one of the most common ways organizations cover the cost of programming like this — it's worth having that conversation with your manager or HR team before registering.
This program may also be eligible for funding through government programs.
Interested in applying for government funding or employer sponsorship? Connect with us and we'll get you everything you need to make it happen.
What is your cancellation policy?
If you cancel 10 or more days before the program start date, you'll receive a full refund. Cancellations between 10 days and 24 hours before the start date can be transferred to a future cohort at no additional cost. For cancellations within 24 hours of the start date, we're not able to process a refund or transfer — but reach out anyway and we'll see what we can do.
Is InceptionU an accredited institution?
Fortunately, we are not. That gives us the freedom to be agile and adaptable as technology and industries evolve. We work closely with industry partners to design programming that aligns with real workforce needs — not what was relevant five years ago. If you'd like our full perspective on credentials and credentialing, read our take on the blog.
Eight Hours That Change How You See Organizational Risk.
