Calgary NEXT: InceptionU trains Calgarians for jobs of the future

InceptionU co-founder and CEO Margo Purcell was recently interviewed by Tara McCool and David Wallach, hosts of a new Calgary radio show called Calgary NEXT.

The show focuses on positive news and features some of the city's up and coming entrepreneurs, founders and organizations who are all working to take Calgary into the future.

On the show, Margo talked about our approach to "unlearning" and how many mid-career professionals, laid off from the oil/gas and other sectors, are pivoting their career into software development. While project-based learning can be challenging for some at first, most flourish in the 6-month full stack developer program and find jobs quickly after the program ends.

She also spoke about the incredible potential the tech sector offers Calgarians and our city as a whole. As companies grow and scale, there are many positions that need to be filled. While some will be technical roles, others will involve project management, sales, UX and UI design, in addition to software developers.

Thank you, Calgary NEXT, for inviting Margo to come on the show. You can listen to the full episode above.
