InceptionU and Platform Calgary: partnering to build the tech talent ecosystem

You’ve likely noticed the cool building down on 9th Street SE - it’s the new home of Platform Calgary and we’re excited to be a resident partner of this important organization.

Platform Calgary has partnerships with about 70 different groups - ranging from education, community builders, companies, startups, founders, venture studios, incubators and accelerators. The whole goal is to grow our tech ecosystem, providing “volume and velocity” so businesses can access the talent, education, funding and support they need to succeed, says Platform’s Director of Growth Jen Lussier.

Our CEO Margo Purcell and Lussier recently sat down with YYC Business to talk about how the Partner Program works. InceptionU is helping Calgarians acquire skills so they can be “future fit,” says Purcell. She says it’s not just about creating new talent, but helping companies that are already here retain the talent they have by embracing a culture of lifelong learning, problem solving and innovating.
